Birch Studio’s primary output is creativity. Birch Studio Sponsors BioTech event

Networking event and fundraiser for the Chesapeake Bioscience Educational Foundation (C-BEF)

We had a great an evening of networking with life science professionals, took a tour of Indoor Biotechnologies’ labs, viewed works by local artists, featuring artwork and sculptures by local artists from BozArt Gallery and University of Virginia. Moroccan and Mediterranean food was provided by Aromas Café. C-BEF is a charitable organization whose mission is to encourage young people to explore careers in innovative fields such as life sciences. Among other initiatives, C-BEF funds internships at eligible biotech companies through matching grants. www.c-bef.org. (more…)

Awesome Open House!

Our Studio hosted an Open House for the design community and the general public last week & we met lots of interesting people. Some were from other firms, some were architects and some were neighbors. The food was from Everyday Gourmet and the cupcakes were from Cappellino’s Crazy Cakes. We had some recent samples of our print work available as well as recent websites completed running on the projector. See pictures on our Facebook fan page:

Roundtable Meeting with U.S. Senator Mark Warner at Darden

Next week, we will have a discussion with other local small biz owners and the SBA (Small Business Administration) as well as Senator Warner about the 2009 Recovery Act. Otherwise known as The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, it will have a significant impact on small businesses and on the credit crunch. This Act will provide tax incentives and financing opportunities that will help small businesses create jobs.

Workshop: Make Your Website Worth Visiting

Our Creative Director, David Robinson will co-lead a Chamber of Commerce workshop on Tuesday March 24th called “Make Your Website Worth Visiting”. He will also be leading another workshop on Wednesday, April 15th from 9am to noon as well.

Jenny and Jill attend Quadruplicity

On Thursday, Feb. 12th from 8 in the morning till 6pm in the evening, the 2 women at Birch Studio attended a conference at the DoubleTree Hotel sponsored by the Chamber called- Quadruplicity -Balance of Career, Life, Money and Health!

Our Studio had a booth there and gave out some great swag as usual. The day was all about success, education, networking, personal growth and leadership development. It started with a networking breakfast and then an energized panel about social networking which includes Facebook, LinkedIn and blogging of course. (more…)

Speaking to 10th graders at PVCC’s Career Day

Piedmont Futures has recruited our Senior Designer, Wes Boyd,  to speak at the 10th Grade Career Days at Piedmont Virginia Community College on March 12th, 2009. We feel that this will be a wonderful opportunity to get students excited about the design field. This event serves nearly 2000 students from the City of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Nelson, Fluvanna and Greene.
